LiTime low-temperature LiFePO₄ batteries are designed for use in cold regions. Whether winter camping, ice fishing, on a boat, or in a solar power system – they provide a constant energy supply even in freezing temperatures. Here you will find typical applications and recommendations for winter operation.
Keyword: Motorhome battery for winter use, motorhome lithium battery for winter
In winter, heaters, lights, and inverters continue to operate – LiTime's 12V/24V low-temperature LiFePO₄ batteries provide stable power and start reliably even at -20°C. Perfect for off-grid campers, vans, and motorhomes with heating systems (Truma, etc.).
Keyword: Ice fishing battery 12v, boat battery ice lake
The 36V models offer high continuous currents for electric motors and trolling motors – ideal for winter boat fishing or ice fishing. They are vibration-resistant and maintain a constant voltage even in sub-zero temperatures.
Keyword: solar storage battery for cold climates, off-grid battery winter operation
LiTime 24V/48V low-temperature batteries store solar power even in cold temperatures. The integrated heater enables safe charging below 0°C, while the smart BMS prevents deep discharge and overload. Ideal for PV systems, cabins, or self-sufficient off-grid systems in winter.
Keyword: Emergency power for heating with battery, photovoltaic battery winter
In the event of a power outage, the LiTime battery supplies central components such as heating controls or circulation pumps via an inverter. This ensures a continuous heat supply even in winter – a reliable solution for emergency power and PV hybrid systems.
LiTime's Low-Temp series not only works reliably in extreme cold, but also utilizes active heating control and a intelligent energy management, to remain efficient, safe and durable even in winter.
Highly efficient heating tapes also heat the cells when -10 °C quickly into the loading area.
Automatic power control balances Heating speed vs. energy consumption.
"Preheat first, then load": The charging process only starts when the cell temperature is safe.
In addition to standard protection functions, the BMS controls Low-temp charging logic and Energy balancing.
In multiple (parallel) configurations, it is similar. Tension & temperature Dynamically switches off, preventing overheating/undercharging of individual modules.
Optimized Cold start voltage response for inverters and motorized/inductive loads.
App shows Low-temperature charging mode, Temperature profile and Heating status in real time.
Remote view of Heating output and current flows.
Multi-pack monitoring For larger systems – ideal for off-grid/home storage operation.
Special cell chemistry maintains -20 °C up to 90% of the rated power during discharge.
Low voltage fluctuation, rapid dynamics – robust under motor/inductive loads.
In combination with LiTime-MPPT and Pure sine wave inverters Energy efficiency increases noticeably.
≥ 4000 cycles, Low maintenance requirements.
Cold-resistant, flame-retardant housing, IP65 tested.
Modular design for easy expansion and service.
Quick guide for winter use: first the Tension Clarify your system, then the capacity calculate last matching functions (Select self-heating, Bluetooth, discharge current).
Rule of thumb: Usable energy (kWh) ≈ Nominal voltage (V) × Ah × 0.8 ÷ 1000
Duration (h) ≈ Usable energy (kWh) ÷ Load (kW)
| Model | Total energy | Usable (~80%) | Example 300 W | Example 600 W |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 36 V 50 Ah (Low-Temp) | ≈ 1.92 kWh | ≈ 1.50 kWh | ≈ 5 h | ≈ 2.5 h |
| 36 V 60 Ah (Low-Temp) | ≈ 2.30 kWh | ≈ 1.84 kWh | ≈ 6 h | ≈ 3.1 h |
| Mission | Tension | Notice |
|---|---|---|
| Motorhome winter camping | 12/24 V | With inverter for 230 V; Plan for ample capacity. |
| Boat/Trolling Motor | 36 V | Constant thrust in cold conditions; sonar separately on 12 V saves energy. |
| PV storage/Off-grid | 24/48 V | With MPPT; self-heating required for winter charging. |
| Home backup (heating/router/lights) | 24/36/48 V | Pure sine wave inverters; take inrush currents into account. |
Tip: For winter operation, it's better to plan for slightly more capacity – this increases reserves in case of frost and poor sunlight.
Although all LiTime Low-Temp LiFePO₄ batteries are equipped with self-heating and Smart-BMS, they differ in performance, runtime and expandability. The following overview will help you make a quick selection:
A notice: All models are expandable in parallel. Always use a charger and cable system that is compatible with the voltage level.
Yes. LiTime's low-temperature LiFePO₄ batteries feature integrated self-heating. Below approximately 5°C, the battery automatically warms up before charging begins. Use only LiFePO₄-compatible chargers (14.6V/29.2V/43.8V/58.4V).
Parallel connection is possible (same type and batch, up to 4 units). Series connection is not recommended, as the models have a fixed rated voltage.
At −20 °C, the usable capacity is approximately 85–90% of the nominal value. After warming, the full capacity is regained – no permanent loss.
Compatible with RVs, boats, PV systems, off-grid systems and UPS. Important: Charging voltage and BMS must be LiFePO₄ compatible.
Store the battery at 40–60% charge and recharge it every 3 months. Avoid storage below 0 °C; dry rooms at room temperature are ideal.
