Hi, this is Don from the YouTube channel Little Griff Off Grid Alberta. For years, I've lived a self-sufficient, off-grid life in the beautiful but challenging north of Alberta, Canada. Living completely without a power grid requires reliable, environmentally friendly energy solutions – especially during our long, dark, and extremely cold winters, when a constant power supply is vital for comfort and safety.
Like many who get into solar energy, I initially relied on lead-acid batteries. Over time, however, their weaknesses became apparent: they were heavy, bulky, and didn't provide the consistent energy I needed for extended periods of low sunlight. I realized I needed a more efficient and reliable energy storage solution.
Then LiTime approached me and offered to let me use her 12V 100Ah lithium battery with self-heating function to test it. I had already researched the performance of lithium batteries and seen many positive reviews – so I was curious to see if it would live up to expectations.

The moment the LiTime battery arrived, I was immediately impressed by its weight – just around 11 kg! This low weight makes installation and subsequent adjustments to the system incredibly easy. Once I integrated it into my off-grid power system, the benefits were immediately noticeable. A single LiTime lithium battery provided enough energy to run my most important appliances during the winter – including my diesel heater, LED lighting, and even a small freezer in my workshop.
The constant current output and overall performance are truly impressive. I'm particularly impressed by the battery's long lifespan – clear proof of its high-quality workmanship and durability.
For us, living in cold regions like northern Alberta, the self-heating function of this LiTime battery is a major advantage. It allows me to store and use the battery even in unheated rooms – without the risk of damage or performance loss at low temperatures. The included instructions were also very clear and helpful – especially regarding the various wiring options for future system expansion.

My experience with LiTime has been consistently positive. If you're considering switching to solar power, upgrading your RV with a new electrical system, or setting up an off-grid cabin, I can recommend them. LiTime batteries I wholeheartedly recommend it. I'm already planning to expand my own off-grid power system with more LiTime batteries and components – to run more tools in my workshop and further develop my self-sufficient lifestyle.
